Who are we?
We are the Playpark Sub-committee of Dunvegan Community Trust, a dedicated group committed to redeveloping the Lochside play area in Dunvegan. Our team comprises many local volunteers, each bringing unique skills and a shared passion for our community's well-being and growth.
Our vision
Our vision is to transform the derelict play park site in Dunvegan into a vibrant, exciting community park. This park is not just about swings and slides; it's a step towards combating rural deprivation, fostering community spirit and creating a nurturing environment for all ages in Dunvegan.
Our children's play area has been shamefully neglected by The Highland Council to the point of it becoming derelict and unsafe. The council recently scrapped its plans to rebuild Dunvegan Primary School, which is in dire need of replacing due to health and safety concerns. Dunvegan needs an safe, inclusive play area for its children and young people to play.
We have been working with play equipment specialists Kompan to design a brand new park which is best suited to the area. Our park will be sustainable, accessible and bespoke for Dunvegan. Local children have themselves shared many of the ideas which were used in the final design.
Your donations
Your generous contributions will directly fund our exciting new park. In addition to grant funding and wind farm community benefit funds, we need as many donations as possible.
Grant funding bodies will look at how much community support this project has before deciding whether to fund this project. Every contribution counts so please consider making a donation, no matter how small.
Your support
Every contribution brings us a step closer to making the Dunvegan Community Park a reality. We promise to honour your support with the utmost responsibility and dedication, ensuring that our children get the play area they deserve.
Help us invest in the future of our community and donate today.
