Dunsley Cafe & Art Collective

Aim

I want to develop a creative community hub that supports local makers and artists and provides a welcoming space for everyone.

My name is Lois, I am 18 years old, and creating a space bringing together community, art and food has long been a dream of mine. When the tenancy of Dunsley Cafe became available it seemed like the perfect opportunity. I’ve recently completed my A-levels and will be dedicating myself to this project full-time - and I can’t wait to get started! I am an artist myself and have been running a small pet portrait, and a sewing business for a few years. This project would be a continuation of these passions but turning them into a bigger dream, alongside building a vibrant creative hub for our town. 

Dunsley Collective will support local makers and artists by offering a place to sell their work, and run workshops along with a comfortable and cosy café serving specialty tea, coffee, cakes, and hearty seasonal food. Dunsley Cafe and Art Collective will be a space to hold events from art exhibitions, to music and spoken word. A place to meet, make and collaborate.

I will use the money generated through this Crowdfund to renovate the space: painting, building display areas, lighting, and purchasing equipment. I am beyond grateful for anything you can give and all the support I have received so far!
