Aim
Our 'mobile billboard' has exhibited across Dumfries and Galloway. We now need additional funds to keep us 'on the road'.
We successfully raised enough funds to buy the van; get the Indy-supporting graphics applied; and print enough 'Scotland's Natural Wealth' information packs to distribute from street stalls and through local letterboxes - explaining why Scotland is big enough, clever enough and rich enough to be a successful independent country.
We've 'exhibited' our van throughout our region of Scotland, enjoying mutual-support with Yes groups from The Machars; Nithsdale; Annandale; and Langholm - and now need to raise additional funds to keep the van 'on the road' and for much more printing of our 'info packs' - of which approximately 5000 have already been put through letterboxes across the region, or handed out at street stalls in Dumfries, Wigtown, Lockerbie, Moffat, Gretna, and Thornhill.
Local Yes groups include former 'No' supporters who've not only come over to 'Yes' but are active in their new groups. We want to continue with our mutual support for all groups in South West Scotland and the Borders - and, in a region virtually devoid of billboards - to have the van parked-up where local folk can read the graphics.
Dumfries & Galloway - in common with the rest of Scotland - saw a notable rise in vote share for independence-supporting parties in the December General Election but, despite (or perhaps because of) that, the Westminster establishment is refusing even to 'allow' the People of Scotland to update their decision on Independence for Scotland in a new Referendum. Whatever route will now get us our independence - Indy Ref; Scottish parliament elections; or court action - we need to keep our presence felt and maintain the positive momentum - promoting Scotland and the potential benefits of running our own affairs in a world of equals.
We're offering 'rewards' - including the 'Scotland the Brief' mini/maxi booklet (A6 pocket/A5 full versions), and the 'Believe in Scotland' car sticker, from Business for Scotland.
Our wee 'Scotland's Natural Wealth' info packs contain 6-8 cards/flyers depicting - you guessed it - the natural wealth of Scotland in its many forms.
The Scotland the Brief pocket-sized A6 (approx 6"x 4" / 150mm x 100mm in new money) 74-page booklet explains Scotland's natural wealth in much more detail - in print and pictorial form. If you need this wee book but can't manage the 'reward' amount - IanW is also selling it on Ebay, with all profits going to our Indy Hub van.
