Help them get started
Your support makes a difference
We're raising £5,000 to help Duaa open a vital local market shop, providing essential goods and support to her camp community.
Hello,
Thank you very much in your interest in supporting us.
My name is Demi and I am an organiser and volunteer of the global Mutual Aid network 💞
Our commitment is to support each other without hesitation, especially when it's most needed ✊🏼
We believe in the power of community, and right now, we're focusing our efforts on supporting a vital initiative that will help many vulnerable people.
My income is currently low, and I need financial help to sustain my family. With your support, I can continue to provide for my family while also helping my fellow network member, Duaa, and her family.
We're working to support Duaa in opening a much-needed shop at their local market.
This initiative is particularly important because there is no similar shop in their camp, and no services are available to deliver aid to those with limited mobility. Your contribution will ensure that this essential support can continue.
- Store name: Freedom groceries
Project Goal
To establish a small grocery store that provides essential daily necessities to the local community while creating a stable and sustainable source of income to support my family and reduce dependence on humanitarian aid.
Products
The store will offer a variety of essential items, including:
- Cold drinks and bottled water
- Coffee, tea, and sugar
- Snacks, biscuits, chips, and chocolates
- Bread and pastries
- Canned food and basic groceries
- Dairy products (when available)
- Household cleaning and hygiene products
- Mobile phone recharge cards and internet vouchers
The estimated startup cost is £5,000, which will cover:
- License: If obtaining a business license is required by local authorities, they will apply for it to ensure the store operates legally.
Target Customers
- Store security: The store will be secured with strong locks and reinforced doors. I will add additional security measures if possible depending on the available resources.
- Store setup and basic equipment (Display refrigerator and shelving)
- Operating expenses during the first stage
- Rent and electricity: They plan to rent a small shop, so the budget will include monthly rent, electricity bills, and other basic operating expenses.
- Stocking the store: They will purchase the initial inventory from local wholesalers and suppliers, focusing on affordable daily essentials such as food, drinks, snacks, hygiene products, and household items.
- Transport and delivery costs: Part of the budget will be allocated to cover the costs of transporting goods from suppliers to the store.
Target customers:
- Local families, children, and residents in the surrounding community who need convenient access to affordable everyday essentials.
Expected Impact
- Create a reliable and sustainable source of income for Duaa's family.
- Reduce dependence on humanitarian assistance.
- Provide essential goods to the local community.
- Create opportunities to expand the business and increase product availability in the future.
