Dryad Book Box: A Fantasy Subscription Box

Aim
A subscription box for fantasy book lovers, platforming UK-based authors and artists!
Dryad Books is an online bookshop providing a specially tailored selection of SFF novels, with a focus on work from marginalised genders and members of the LGBTQIA+ communities. Producing a subscription box has been one of our goals since our launch, and we're so excited to be finally getting started.
We want to highlight the awesome fantasy novels coming out of the UK, traditionally and self-published. That’s why each box will include not one, but two books: one hotly anticipated traditionally published fantasy novel, and one amazing self-published (or published by a small indie) book which compliments the box's theme.
Each box will feature:
- A newly released fantasy book by a UK-based author, either signed or with a signed bookplate. This will usually be an Adult Fantasy, but a few Young Adult novels will inevitably be thrown in the mix.
- A digital copy of a self-published/small indie-published fantasy novel, also from a UK author.
- Bookish goodies – from art prints to pin badges to bookmarks, and everything in between – all sourced from UK-based creatives and small businesses.
- A little treat to enjoy while you read – such as tea and vegan snacks.
- All for £20, plus shipping.
At this stage, Dryad Book Box will be a bi-monthly subscription box, with boxes sent out every other month. We're a small team, so this is the best way to ensure we meet deadlines and give each box the love and care it deserves.

- Commission artists – we’re hoping to include a custom art print in each box!
- Help produce future boxes and pay website fees.
- This is an 'all or nothing' project, meaning you will be refunded if we don't meet our target.
Risks & Challenges
We know there are so many book subscription boxes to choose from, but we promise to go above and beyond to make your subscription to Dryad Book Box extra special. There may be issues that arise due to supply chain delays: to avoid this, we're planning to secure all our stock as early as possible and have made the decision to produce the box bi-monthly to ensure the highest quality. We also promise to keep you updated on any issues on social media and via regular email updates.
