Our brand new Flood-lit Pitch will open in 2026 and now requires a 468m Spectator Fence to make it ready for hosting Competitive Games.
Founded in 1972, Drumragh Sarsfields has grown from strength to strength; our humble journey started on Parish grounds in St.Patrick's Park but since then we've found our forever home in Clanabogan Park.
With the unwavering generosity of Club members and sponsors, alongside years of tireless work by our volunteers; to date we have built a pitch, a clubhouse, training pitch, spectator stand, community walkway and car park.
Now, with over 600 members (almost half of which are youth) our Club is a hive of activity for players from 4yrs old, up to Seniors and beyond! Age is only a number ;-)
Although very much welcomed, this increased use and enjoyment of our facilities, by all age groups and generations, has placed additional demand on our current infrastructure. And so in 2024, Drumragh Sarsfields launched an ambitious £1.8m capital investment project that would see us undertake the following development:
*Full-Size Floodlit Second Pitch
*Redevelopment of Main Pitch surface
*High Performance Gym
*Brand new Community Hall
*Ball-wall & Multi-use 3G area

To date, we have invested over £250k on the development of our new pitch, every penny raised directly through fundraising and sponsorship. All those who supported us in this journey so far can be immensely proud of the part they are playing in helping our GAA Club build for future generations. This full-size, flood lit pitch will be ready to host games Spring 2026 but in order to do so, it now requires a Spectator Perimeter (468m of powder-coated fencing) and 1.5m concrete pathway around the same.

We have paired up with SPORT NI Olympic Legacy Fund to launch our Crowdfunder campaign. All money raised through this project will be 'ring-fenced' (excuse the pun!) for installation of the new Spectator Fence and associated works. This is an essential part of being 'match-ready' for 2026 and so plans are in place to have installation completed by end of 2025.
Costs associated with this project include;

Drumragh Sarsfields is a cross-community, voluntary led organisation and rooted in GAA heritage is a community generous in spirit. Being a rural club, we understand how essential our facilities are within the local area, for more than just ourselves! Not only do we provide free football coaching sessions to 3 neighbouring primary schools, but we also see our Clubrooms used regularly by other community and sports groups. A cycling club, running club, drama group, Irish dancers, Comhaltas and Men's Shed; all call Clanabogan Park their Home!
Not to mention the 'Fun Days' 'Colour Runs' 'Music-a-thons' and all the other community days organised and hosted by Drumragh Sarsfields volunteers. Pass by our club grounds any given week and you'll find a hive of activity, enjoyed by many; members and non-members alike!

There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
