Aim

Create a fully accessible creative workshop in Droylsden by refurbishing the derelict Thomas Cook unit into a space for skills and community

CTA CIC was created with one purpose: to transform neglected spaces into places of opportunity, creativity and community. As local residents and makers ourselves, we’ve seen first‑hand how much potential Droylsden has — and how much the town has been held back by lack of investment, youth provision, and limited access to creative skills.

Our team brings together designers, makers, community organisers and young people who want to build something better for the area. We’ve already been supporting local tenants, running creative projects, and building relationships across the town centre. Now we want to take the next step.

The derelict Thomas Cook unit has sat empty for years. We see a future where it becomes a vibrant, accessible creative workshop — a place where people of all ages can learn new skills, use tools they wouldn’t normally have access to, and feel part of something positive.

The money raised will go directly towards refurbishing the space: clearing the unit, installing equipment, creating workshop zones, improving accessibility, and making it safe, warm and welcoming. Every contribution helps us turn an abandoned space into a community asset that Droylsden can be proud of.

Together, we can bring this place back to life.
