The Dronfield Band are a self-funding traditional Brass Band, based in Lowedges, Sheffield. We run a graded contesting band in the Yorkshire area, as well as a community training band and 'daytime brass' initiatives, providing entertainment and musical education within the local community.

Founded in 1970, Dronfield Band are a self funding, traditional Brass Band, rehearsing in Lowedges, Sheffield. The organisation currently comprises 3 bands; a graded contesting band competing in the Yorkshire area, a community band open to players of all ages and abilities, and 'daytime' brass offering a more social dynamic, for players of all abilities to enjoy meeting like minded people, whilst enjoying making music together.

The organisation performs at a variety of concerts and events for our local community throughout the year, including leading well attended remembrance day parades at Bolsover and Killamarsh.
As well as generating its own funds to support the running of the band, something costing around £10,000 every year, the band also nominates another worthy cause to benefit from a variety of fundraising activities held over a 12 month period, having raised tens of thousands of pounds for our chosen charities since our fundraising efforts began.
Covid-19 affected the band badly, and the band has worked exceptionally hard to rebuild and regroup since returning to the band room with approximately 10 players back in October 2020.
A one-off or regular donation to the band would enable us not only to continue entertaining audiences around South Yorkshire, but also to purchase new music to enhance our repertoire, maintain our band instruments ensuring all players have access to a good quality instrument, and replace tired and worn equipment and uniform.
