The Cause
We are raising funds to refurbish all our pitches. We refurbish pitches by seeding, adding fertilizer and top dressing with sand.
It costs around £6,000 to fully refurbish a pitch, and in previous years the club has fully refurbished 2 pitches and added seed and fertilizer to the 2 training pitches. Cash constraints have caused us to neglect our other pitches. This year we would like to fully refurbish all our pitches.
It's busy down at DRFC both mid week and weekends, currently we have:
- Monday Nights - 45 Colts, 30 Women
- Tuesday nights - 45 Seniors & 50-80 YDP Attendees
- Wednesday Nights - 40 Touch, 30 Women & 30-50 Youth girls
- Thursday nights - 45 Seniors & 40 Colts
- Saturdays - Senior men's rugby
- Sundays - Senior women's, colts, youth and minis rugby
We wish to ensure we provide sufficient space and facilities for all teams and sections of the club to train and play rugby on well prepared pitches.
