Grandads Have Found THE STORAGE OF OUR DREAMS

Aim: Help us rent the STORAGE SPACE OF OUR DREAMS and expand and transform how much we can do for our community

This is a 3:1 match funding opportunity for Grandads Front Room! 

Everything up to £150 will be tripled by Access - The Foundation for Social Investment. This means that if someone pledges £150, it is actually worth a whopping £600 to us. Equally, a £15 donation would be worth £60! This is a very rare and exciting opportunity for us, so please do give what you can and share, share, share.

Who we are 

Grandads Front Room is here to help individuals, community groups, and local charities in Bognor Regis and the surrounding area. We are a not-for-profit Community Interest Company (CIC) operating with the sole intention of helping others who need help, for free. 

We are the only organisation in Arun district that gives free furniture and white-goods without any criteria beyond need.

You might recognise our shop! We're based on the Bognor Regis High Street and we sell all kinds of wonderful items which helps us to raise money for those who need help in our community.

"We want to be there for those that struggle, give support to those that are falling, give company to those that are alone, give an ear to those that need to be heard and give a voice to those that feel they are ignored."

Who is Grandad?

Grandad was a man who would help anyone at any time, inspiring us to do the same. He died helping a lady to carry her shopping up a hill. And although he is now gone, his memory lives on at Grandads Front Room.

Something exciting is happening

Bognor Regis Town Council very kindly gave us a grant for one year's overhead costs for two single garages, both at £105/month or £2,520/year. This has helped us immensely, but we now have the opportunity to really expand and transform our services if we can get the STORAGE SPACE OF OUR DREAMS which we have been looking for for years.

We could move from 128 sq ft storage to 1087 square feet!

What this allows us to do

• clear the inside space so that people can see more and buy more.
• sort items quicker and get them onto shelves quicker. 
• sort the storage room at so that it could just be used for our fundraising games
• really start accepting stuff we currently cannot store, like sofas and beds (we've been asked for 3 beds this week alone). 
• run upcycling workshops and boost our revenue that way as well.

We would just need another £8,500 to run this for one year (if we go past our target, we could rent it for longer!

This increase in our revenue and services will help us do more of the things we already do

• Helping the homeless, vulnerable and struggling individuals and families in our community by providing low/no-cost furniture and white goods
• Providing a warm social space with hot drinks and food over winter
• Delivering emergency food supplies to those in urgent need
• Signposting to further help

This is Stevie (Left) and Danny (Right) who are our main directors and who you might recognise in the shop! Danny created our social enterprise in memory of his Grandad, hoping that his legacy of love for his neighbours and community can live on.
