Aim

DrLegumes is Moving! With your help, we are moving our community focused plant based restaurant closer to the heart of Folkestone.

We are Dr Legumes, a Community Interest Company situated in the South Eastern Coastal town of Folkestone.

We use food and art to communicate a perspective of Health & Wellbeing, Sustainability & Community.

Focusing on the nutritional and holistic benefits of a balanced plant based diet & lifestyle, we aim to share experiences within our community, through creative projects & workshops, engaging publicly & privately.

Our health & wellbeing, both physically & mentally is influenced by our diet & lifestyle on a daily basis.

We understand the impact this has within our own community & the responsibilty to promote a positive & healthy lifestyle with better food choices. Particularly within schools & community groups & with marginalised individuals, in the most deprived areas of our community.

The funds that we raise will be supporting the development of our new home at 10 Rendezvous St. Folkestone, Kent.

We will be creating a comfortable restaurant space and kitchen for us to deliver our projects, events & workshops from.

Starting in the kitchen, we will be creating a fresh and professional environment with new floor, tiled walls and additional cooking equipment. This space will allow us to engage with our community in food preparation, food education and closed private cookery classes and demonstrations. It will also give us the opportunity in hosting other like minded businesses or chefs. We will host any community or private closed workshops on our long table(downstairs), suitable for up to 12 individuals. We will also be creating a small bar and service area downstairs.

As we move to the upstairs main restaurant area we plan to re-lay the floor, decorate all walls, table & chair fixings, light fixings, live grow wall, redecorate customer toilets & create a robust service station. This area will be our main dining room and will function as a restaurant space, to allow us to service any walk in trade. This area will also be available for private hire and will accommodate up to 30 patrons.
