Aim

We would like to recoup the money stolen from Angelo's donation box at his funeral. This money was going to help prospective young engineers

Dr Angelo Grubisic, PhD Advanced Propulsion, MSc, BEng (Hons), was an Aerospace Systems Engineer, a lecturer of Astronautics and Advanced Propulsion at Southampton University and an avid Wingsuit BASE Jumper. Angelo consulted for NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory and the European Space Agency, developing the solar electric propulsion system for the BepiColombo mission to Mercury which launched in 2018 and is scheduled to arrive in 2025. Angelo also created and led the Icarus Project at Southampton University, which aimed to progress human flight by developing a new wingsuit using state of the art computational analysis, experimental aerodynamics and testing.

Angelo wanted to help inspire students to consider a career in science or engineering and would often speak at schools and events. Angelo was from an underprivelaged background, brought up with his sister, Karina, by their single mum, Anita, in Willenhall, a small town in the Black Country. From humble beginnings, Angelo showed that as long as you have passion, drive and commitment you can achieve whatever you want in life. Sadly, Angelo lost his life whilst flying his wingsuit at a festival in Saudi Arabia for Al Soudah Season. Although this charasmatic man died doing what he loved, his death was premature at 38 years old and he still had so much more to give this world; from his pioneering engineering to his enthusiastic approach to teaching and education.

We would like to raise funds to continue the work that Angelo was so passionate about; to help those from less fortunate backgrounds towards a career in engineering by helping with equipment, course costs and support grants.

Unfortunately, the donation money we collected at Angelo's funeral was stolen. If we can recoup the money from the donation box (and more!) using this platform then it will really help us get Angelo's Foundation going.

We hope that in his death, Angelo's legacy will live on by helping to nurture the next generation of engineers.

Thank you
