Bring the heart back to Downderry and Seaton with a Community Shop
Why a Community Shop?
Downderry and Seaton, with our thriving community, breath-taking views and serene beaches, have been without a shop since Downderry Stores closed in September 2023.
The villages are in great need of a shop that sustains our community.
Our goal? To raise £85,000 in eight weeks to secure the lease for our very own community shop.
Reconnecting our community
The community shop will be a vibrant hub where locals, day-trippers, dog walkers, second-home owners and holidaymakers can find not just goods and groceries, but connection and a warm welcome.
A sprint to success
Launching in May 2024, we have two months to turn our dream into reality. Every donation brings us a step closer to revitalising Downderry and Seaton with a shop that offers both convenience and community.
How you can help
- Donate: every pound adds up! Your generosity could make all the difference between Downderry Community Shop becoming a reality, or the village remaining without a shop.
- Spread the word: Share our campaign with friends, family, and on social media to help us reach all those who love Downderry and Seaton and want to see our villages thrive. Your voice is powerful!
- Get involved: We are on the lookout for volunteers. Join us!
All donations to be used for the Downderry Community Shop project. In the event of failure to secure a site for the shop, donations will be used for other community projects. Please contact the steering group via the website or Facebook group with any queries or for further details.
