We would like to open a brand new, one of a kind “Doula Cafe”. This will also provide support groups for local pregnant and new families
*please note this will open once lockdown is lifted*
We support families across East Lancashire and Blackburn with Darwen. We provide free one to one support through pregnancy, birth and beyond. Plus groups and free counselling service.
We specialise in pregnancy and the early times of parenting. Our staff and volunteers are trained in appropriate skills.
Due to feedback from local parents, we would like to open a new cafe. This cafe will be tailored to parents and young children. We will run groups for parents to attend whilst being a central, relaxing hub for parents to come and discuss whatever they feel they need to. We will have trained Doula support workers on hand to help talk through any issues a parent may have. This cafe will welcome other services to come and help support families.
The cafe will offer pay as you feel, alongside a small food bank, in order to help those who may be struggling. As the area is one of high poverty, this will help families to have a good meal. We have been working closely with those at risk of homeless or who are not living in their own homes. Providing counselling services, Doulas and other support as needed.
The cafe will mostly be staffed by volunteers, offering training and experience to those who are in most need. Working closely with local colleges and job centres to offer support. To increase job and training opportunities in the area.
This cafe will provide a central, relaxing and supportive hub for the local community, with specialised support for families on hand.
A truly holistic and supportive environment.
This has become even more important as lockdown is lifted and we are able to gather again. This will help to reduce isolation
