Aim
We're calling on generous Fifers to ensure Afghan families fleeing for their lives are welcome, safe and looked after here in Fife.
Fife Voluntary Action is working in partnership with statutory partners, liaising with official agencies from the UK Home Office to Fife Council, NHS Fife and others to help co-ordinate the arrival and support of Afghan families fleeing their home country.
Families are arriving with hardly any possessions, having fled for their lives. Agencies across Fife are working hard to make sure they are welcomed, supported and safe. We've received a lot of donated goods (www.fva.org/crisis) and we are looking to raise funds to purchase anything which hasn't been donated.
We will also help to co-ordinate support services, mobilising other charities and community groups, and volunteers, to help everybody those who are coming to start a new life in Fife.
