I'm taking on The Dartmoor Classic Grande 107 mile route Granite & Ghosts to raise money for Ride On - Cycling For All @ Exeter Quay

Hello lovely people, I have decided to take part in this year’s Dartmoor Classic – specifically the Grande Route dubbed Granite & Ghosts. It’s a whooping 107 mile monster ride that takes in some of the steepest and hardest climbs in Dartmoor.

I’ve not done it before and given I’ve recently started working for the charity Ride On based at Exeter Quay, I figured it was a great opportunity to raise some money for them and support the cause! Ride On sells refurbished second hand bikes and delivers bicycle training around Devon. The charity and team have a particular passion to make bikes available to everyone and they work hard to keep as many bikes as possible out of landfill and on the roads & trails. 

I’ve been training up as a bike mechanic a day or two a week since November 2025 and I’ve been so impressed by the work they carry out and the community of awesome volunteers involved in renovating so many bikes – it really is a team effort. 

Every donation will make a difference to the charity that run on tight margins and the goodwill of many in the community. 107 miles would be a daunting length of bike ride without the hills but the Grande route takes in some 2777m of climbing – ouch! Please give generously and wish me luck…
