Help us equip Donaghmore GAA’s new S&C Hub so youth and senior players, men and ladies, can train, grow, and perform at their best!
Donaghmore GAA is a community-based club at the heart of village life, dedicated to promoting Gaelic games, culture, and togetherness. Our aim is to provide a welcoming space where people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities can enjoy the benefits of sport and community. From under-6 boys and girls to our senior men’s and ladies’ teams, players develop skills, strength, coordination, resilience, teamwork, confidence, and lifelong friendships. Gaelic football offers a healthy outlet for energy and competition while encouraging commitment, respect, and personal growth.
The impact of Donaghmore GAA extends far beyond the pitch. Supporting and following our teams brings neighbours, families, and friends together, fostering connection, pride, and wellbeing. Our programmes and facilities promote both physical and mental health, while addressing social, cultural, and recreational needs. Whether playing, cheering, or volunteering, everyone is part of a community built on inclusion, respect, and positivity. Donaghmore GAA is a cornerstone of village life, nurturing participation, wellbeing, and social connection for generations to come.
The club is embarking on an ambitious project to future-proof the teams of Donaghmore GAA. We have invested in a youth development programme for all players aged 12 and over, and now we need your help to equip our new Strength & Conditioning Hub with the essential training equipment. This facility will support players of all ages, from youth to senior, men and ladies, helping them improve fitness, strength, and overall wellbeing. Construction of the Hub is ongoing and is on course to be completed in December 2025.
Your support and the support of Sport NI's Olympic Legacy Fund will provide the weights and training equipment our players need to build power, endurance, and agility, giving them the tools to perform at their best on the pitch and sustain Donaghmore GAA for the future.
Our Strength & Conditioning Hub project aligns closely with the Olympic Legacy Fund by increasing participation, modernising facilities, and creating an inclusive community space.
It will give players of all ages - from youth to senior, men and ladies access to modern training equipment that supports fitness, performance, and wellbeing. The Hub will encourage more young people to stay active and involved in Gaelic games by providing a safe, welcoming, and fully equipped environment. It will also be accessible to wider community groups, schools, and local sports organisations, offering opportunities for physical activity, rehabilitation, and social engagement. By promoting health, inclusion, and long-term participation, this project ensures that Donaghmore GAC continues to play a vital role in community life, delivering sustainable benefits for generations to come.
Every contribution will help create a lasting legacy for sport and wellbeing in Donaghmore, and each contribution will also unlock 65% match-funding from Sport NI, making your support go even further.
The club has already made great strides in creating the physical Strength & Conditioning Hub, and now we need your help to fund the equipment inside. The money raised will go entirely towards purchasing weights, machines, and training equipment that players of all ages, from youth to senior, men and ladies, can use to improve fitness, strength, and performance on the pitch.
Budget for equipping the Hub: £51,382
Your support will ensure that every pound is invested directly into giving our players the best possible facilities to train safely, develop their skills, and maximise their potential.
Donaghmore GAA is more than a sports club – it is a hub for the whole community. Our teams and facilities bring people together, from youth players just starting out to senior men and ladies, creating opportunities for social interaction, teamwork, and personal development. Supporting our Strength & Conditioning Hub will benefit not only players on the pitch but also the wider community, as the space is used for health and wellbeing talks, nutrition workshops, first aid and child protection courses, coaching education, and other social and cultural activities.
By investing in the Hub, we are helping to promote physical and mental health across all ages, reduce isolation, and encourage positive participation in community life. Families, friends, and neighbours come together to support matches, training, and events, building connections that strengthen the fabric of Donaghmore village. Your support will ensure that Donaghmore GAA continues to provide inclusive, safe, and accessible spaces where everyone can benefit from sport, learning, and community engagement.
