Band
The Dominic Ingham Quintet is ‘a rare treat and should be heard live whenever possible’ (Kit Downes). It was founded by myself, Dominic, and I’ve been writing and leading the group since 2015. The journey so far has been fascinating, as we’ve been allowed the time to develop our own unique sound through rehearsing, playing gigs, and hanging out! I’ve studied for the past four years at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and worked on this music individually with various professors such as, composer Barak Schmool. As a band, we've also been very fortunate to have several invaluable sessions with drummer James Maddren which led to him being the producer for the album.
I’m very lucky to have, not only some of closest friends in the band, but also some of the most sought after musicians in the UK. The line up consists of -

The Album
The decision to make the album was influenced heavily by recent recordings with collective ‘Bonsai’ and Jonny Mansfield’s 'Elftet'. These experiences helped me to realise the importance of sharing music that’s personal, and communicating it to a wider audience in order to achieve a greater purpose - this is what we hope to do with this album.
The music that we play explores new musical spaces through this unusual lineup, as well as performing ‘modern day lullabies’ (The Jazz Mann). My compositions are inspired by my early influences of folk and classical music, as well as the music of some of my favourite jazz musicians - Theolonius Monk, Wayne Shorter, Ambrose Akinmusire and Joel Ross.
I’m also happy/not so happy to be one of a very few jazz violinists currently on the scene. It’s been great so far to have fewer role models in the world of jazz violin, as it opens up more possibilities in terms of creating my own sound. However, I hope that this album will inspire and allow more string players to get involved in jazz; continuing the legacy of Jazz Violin.

The Costs
Up until now, we have self funded the recording of the album which consisted of 2 amazing days at Livingston Studios in Wood Green, London. We’re extremely happy with the results and can’t stop listening back! However, in order to finish the whole process, we need your help and support. We need to raise £3600 to cover -
