Dominic Berry is launching a new Spoken Word record label in association with Fiftypointfour Recordings
Fiftypointfour Recordings were an underground electronic music label in the late nineties early noughties. Label owner Sean Holland has more recently been involved in Spoken Word and Poetry performance. During a campfire conversation at the Glas-Denbury Festival in 2018 with a friend and fellow performer Dominic Berry, the idea was muted to release a spoken word album featuring Dominics "selected Greatest Hits"
Dominic Berry is an internationally award-winning performance poet. He is 2017 Glastonbury Festival Poet in Residence, winner of 2017 Saboteur ‘Best Spoken Word Artist’ award and has toured his verse across the USA, Canada, India, New Zealand, Australia, South America and Europe.
His other awards include winning New York’s Nuyorican Poetry Cafe Slam, UK Superheroes of Slam and, as of 2018, seven Arts Council England Grants for the Arts awards.
With distribution channels already in place and physical media being sourced along with artwork and associated design work we are all but set to bring you this exceptional body of work from one of the UK's most loved spoken word artists.
This crowdfunder will not only give Dominic's many fans an opportunity to bag some exclusive rewards but will give the label the kickstart it needs to open the way for more performers to release work in this way. Every album will be recorded to an extremely high standard using state of the art facilities and mastered by the best sound engineers. Rewards bagged now will be delivered in time for Christmas 2018.
