Restoration of the ‘Bottom Bar’ at The Dolphin

Aim
To restore the Dolphin bar on New Road after 40 years of closure, with a lettle help from our community.
We bought The Dolphin in September 2025 and are in the process of renovating it with lots of help from our community. The main bar opened its doors on 20th December and we hope to be fully open within 6 months.
The New Road entrance / ‘Bottom Bar’ to The Dolphin has, with the exception of the occasional weekend, sat empty for around 40 years. Who’d have thought it, it’s turned out to be a bigger and more expensive job than we hoped - time, the damp and the woodworm have played their part... A lot of people have contacted us to say that while they aren’t able to come and help out, they’d really like to contribute in a small way if they can and having given it significant consideration we have decided to set up a crowdfunding page for anyone who would like to give a little to this space.
