Aim

Dolgellau Cricket Club desperately needs to replace our outfield mower and heavy roller required to prepare quality grass cricket pitches.

Aim
Dolgellau Cricket Club, Grounds machinery replacement. Our current machines have worn out over a long time and are beyond repair. We need to replace our outfield mower and heavy roller.

Who we Are?
Dolgellau CC are one of the oldest cricket clubs in North Wales, founded in 1826 making this our 200th birthday!  We are the only cricket club in the area who play cricket on quality grass pitches with our nearest clubs being Bala, Aberystwyth or Pwllheli. We run two open age sides on the weekends, have a Ladies softball team and since 2017 we have been running junior taster sessions backed by the ECB called Cricket All Stars and Cricket Dynamos.

Why are we crowd funding?
Without the replacement of our ground equipment we would simply not be able to offer cricket on a quality playing surface. We have endeavored to keep our old machines going over the last few years, but they are no longer economically viable to repair. New machines would do the same job in half the time, taking pressure off our volunteer grounds staff.

How well spend the money raised ?
The cost of the new machines would total £25000. We are hoping to raise half this amount through crowd funding with sport wales match funding whatever we raise.

Community impact

The community of  Dolgellau will benefit by having a physical activity which is good for physical health as it is a sport that many people can participate in, while also aiding people’s mental health by offering support to those who need it in a team environment whilst participating and likewise for members off the field who are grateful of the opportunity of supporting the various teams while getting to socialise with other club members.

How you can play your part

There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.

1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!

2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.

3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!

4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!

We  would like to thank any individual or business who donates £50 or over to our crowd funder by making them a match day sponsor in the 2026 season with their name getting an honourable mention in the match report in the Cambrian News.
