Aim

We want to expand the amount of bread and beer we can produce to make a truly sustainable business and so we don't sell out all the time!

Docker exists to serve the community.

We are here to serve our community with the best bread and beer we can possibly make.  We believe that our role is to provide our local community with products that can't be bought at large retailers.  If we have any bread left we donate it to homeless charities in the area.  But we are all too often selling out or unable to make enough for weekend customers.

What are we looking to buy?

We really need a much bigger mixer, a bigger cool-room and some more fermenters.

But didn't you already buy a bigger oven with the help of government funding?

That's right, we were lucky enough to be given partial funding for a huge new oven which we installed in our new container using a massive forklift truck!  It's been serving us really well but we now need more fridge space and a bigger mixer to fill that oven with more bread.

How are you planning to purchase the new equipment?

We have been very lucky to secure EU funding from Folkestone Council because they believed that our project will benefit the East Folkestone area and will generate new jobs.  We are extremely grateful but this funding only covers half the cost and it would really help us out if you would be willing to help us fund the other half.

But you are a business, why don't you just use your own profits?

We are really keen to keep investing money back into the business for expansion and training, in order to create jobs.  This year we employed and trained 2 bakers and 1 brewer and they have been amazing for the business. We are proud to have offered employment to people in our local community and hope to be able to do so again as the business expands.  But margins are tight in food production businesses and buying new equipment takes a large outlay of money.  With your help we can get this equipment and improve capacity and working processes.  And in turn we can make more bread and beer for the community and supply more bread to local charities.
