DMC Brewery Taproom!

DMC Brewery began when Covid hit. Gez, a high end chef, lost his restaurant and job, as no one was eating out any more. A little tired of the long hours and not seeing his family, he took the opportunity to think of what he wanted to do.

A few years previously his wife Ele, a keen homebrewer, had made him a birthday present in the form of a batch of alcoholic ginger beer. It was so good, they thought at the time, that it could be sold. The idea was fun, but fleeting. 

The idea returned. Why not try it? Craft Alcoholic Ginger Beer. Brewed and sold. There was nothing else going on in lockdown so...go for it? 

Over the next few years DMC Brewery has gone from strength to strength. With Gez heading up operations and Ele as head brewer, our beers have been sold up and down the country - from direct sales from a website, to trade partners, beer festivals, concerts, battle re-enactments, street markets and more.

We have expanded from being a tiny operation in a cellar to our own brewery - which we are moving out of - because we are too big for it!

And with that moves comes our next step. The DMC Taproom.

We have plenty of experience with our own mobile bar, but now we have the opportunity to give DMC a permanent home.  

We are doing this crowdfunder to build the bar we all want to drink at. If you know DMC we sit somewhere between heavy metal, norse, pagan, nerdery and party vibes - and we want our bar to reflect that! It will also be the UK's first Ginger Beer Bar (don't worry, plenty of other new and interesting beers will be available too!)

Imagine a place in the middle of Leeds where you can grab a fresh beer - not just from us, but from all the great breweries, cideries and meaderies we've met in our journey so far. Where there are great tunes on the sound system. Where you could play some D&D. Where you might see a great band. Where your band might play. Where you could have a quiet pint or a rager!

We'll be hosting student nights, industry nights for our trade and leisure industry friends, we'll be getting in our brewery friends for tap takeovers and collaborations. 

This is a bar that will grow and change with the crowd we get (You!) And you have to opportunity to be part of this!

We have the location. Two railway arches on Railway Street. One for the brewery, one for the taproom. We're ready to put a killer bar in there. 

A bar costs money. And we are pretty much maxed out from the move from one location to the next. We have no debts to speak of (Maybe to our mums!) And we are bootstrapped from day one, every penny has gone back into the business. And we want this to continue. That's why we're asking you for a little bit of money now that you'll get back! 

Most of our rewards are for bar credit. And you'll get more than you put in, so it's a damn good deal. Everything else - great deal too. VIP T Shirts for £20? That's regular price! And you know rocking up to the bar in one of these is gonna
