DIY DAL KIT:
This Dal called 'Panchmel Dal' is a mix of five different lentils and is a key part of the Rajasthani thali. It is a recipe my mother cooked often and passed down to me.
The Kit comes wrapped in fabric and contains:
- Mix of five dried lentils
-Whole spices
-Freshly roasted and ground spice mix
- Recipe Card
You will need to add: tomato, onion, ginger + garlic
All donations (minus ingredients cost and p&p costs) will go to Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP)
MAP remain one of the only international organisations working to provide humanitarian and medical services, including in the north. They provide support in Gaza, the West Bank and in Lebanon. MAP have organised (along with IRC) nine emergency medical teams to help at Al Aqsa Hospital, Nasser Hospital and the European Gaza Hospital. They have also helped to rebuild Nasser Hospital after the latest Israeli strike. Their work includes provision of life saving drugs, medical equipment and supplies. They also provide warm clothing, hot meals and shelter for displaced Palestinians. They urgently need financial support to continue their essential work.
The latest casualty figures in Gaza stands at 43,374 people killed (16,756 of them children) this number doesn't account for those still trapped under the rubble, more than 102,261 people injured and more than 10,000 people missing.
According to the latest data from the World Health Organisation Israeli attacks have damaged over 50% of homes, 80% of commercial facilities, 87% of school buildings, 50% of hospital facilities remain partially functional, 68% of road networks, 68% of cropland.
By the time I have finished writing this, those numbers will be out of date.
This year's DAL KIT will raise funds to support life saving medical care and provision of essentials such as food and shelter to Palestinians whose lives have been torn apart by the ongoing genocide.
