After violence or a crisis, their recovery journeys reveal society’s failure to support trauma survivors and question how we can improve.
Our Story
We are Third Eye Media Productions, an independent London-based film company founded to tell stories that give voice to the unseen. Led by filmmaker Michael Carter, whose work explores trauma, resilience, and mental health, our small team of filmmakers, editors, and social advocates shares a mission: to create cinema that sparks empathy and social change.
The Idea
Displaced: Lives After Trauma began with one question: What happens to people after a life-changing crisis when help disappears? The documentary follows five extraordinary individuals in London who became homeless not because of bad choices, but because trauma shattered their world. Through their voices, we expose how invisible struggles with PTSD, domestic violence, and displacement are often met with silence rather than support.
The Vision
This film aims to shift how society sees homelessness, not as failure, but as a human result of unresolved trauma. By weaving personal stories with a cinematic eye for truth, we want to drive understanding and policy discussion around trauma-informed care.
How We’ll Use the Funds
Safe and ethical production: ensuring trauma-informed support for participants
Cinematic storytelling: professional cinematography, sound, and editing
Post-production: colour grading, music, and subtitles for accessibility
Outreach campaign: free screenings for charities, community groups, and schools
Every contribution helps give voice to people living in silence, turning real stories into change.
