Aim
Memorial funds to comemorate the passing of Michael Curtis as contributions towards the Michael Curtis prize award for Kent Roman Studies
Michael had been excavating with the DROP team for nearly a decade and always a cheerful soul and good company. Such was his love of archaeology he had, perhaps rather late in the day, launched into an undergraduate degree at Leicester University. He had a particular enthusiasm for Roman archaeology and on learning of his diagnosis a Michael Curtis award was set up with the University of Kent as a prize for the best paper or dissertation on a Roman topic relating to Kent. The initial award of £200 is already in place but crowdfunding will help to maintain future awards in his memory.
