Your support makes a difference
Building a free disability-led emotional support service so every disabled person feels heard, believed and supported.
Our Story
Imagine becoming disabled and suddenly finding yourself navigating grief, isolation, inaccessible services, and a world that often doesn't believe your experiences.
For many disabled people, emotional support isn't designed with disability in mind. Too often, conversations focus on fixing, questioning or dismissing rather than listening, understanding and validating. Many disabled people experience loneliness, medical gaslighting, discrimination, financial hardship and the emotional impact of ableism without having a safe place to talk.
Disabled Voices CIC was created to change that.
We are building a free, confidential emotional support service designed by disabled people, for disabled people across the UK.
Our volunteers won't offer therapy or tell people what to do. Instead, they provide something many disabled people rarely receive: a compassionate, non-judgemental space where people are listened to, believed and supported.
Every conversation is grounded in our disability-affirming approach. We recognise that inaccessible systems, discrimination and exclusion often shape distress—not simply by someone's disability itself.
Our vision is a future where no disabled person has to face life's challenges alone.
Why We Need Your Support
There are more than 16 million disabled people in the UK, yet there is currently no national emotional support service dedicated specifically to disabled people.
Demand for support continues to grow, while many services remain difficult to access due to physical, sensory, communication, or psychological barriers. Disabled people are also more likely to experience loneliness, poor mental health, poverty, discrimination and social exclusion.
We believe everyone deserves to feel heard.
Your support will help us launch and grow a service that provides:
Free emotional support for disabled people across the UK
Accessible phone and webchat services
Disability-led volunteers trained in trauma-informed, disability-affirming practice
Safe, confidential conversations without judgement
Signposting to additional support where appropriate
Ongoing volunteer training and supervision
What Your Donation Will Do

Our Promise
Disabled Voices CIC is rooted in lived experience.
We know what it feels like to have your experiences questioned, your needs overlooked, and your voice unheard.
That's why every part of our organisation is built around one simple belief:
Disabled people deserve to be heard, believed and supported.
With your help, we can create a service where disabled people know they will always find someone who will listen.
Together, we can ensure that no disabled person has to face emotional distress alone.
