Aim

Restoring the heart of Woodmancote. Help us repair our historic chapel bellcote and bell so this cherished village landmark can ring again.

For more than 150 years, the bell at Woodmancote Chapel has marked moments of worship, community and village life. In January 2024, a suspension wire failed, leaving the bell silent, and a later inspection found that the cross above it was unsafe. Our project aims to raise £30,000 to strengthen and refurbish the bellcote, repair and re-hang the bell, and restore the cross. Woodmancote Chapel, built in 1854 and Grade II listed, remains an active place of worship and a hub for coffee mornings, community events and outreach. By supporting this appeal, you will help protect an important part of Woodmancote’s heritage and bring back a cherished sound that has connected generations. Every donation, whatever its size, will take us closer to seeing the bell restored, the bellcote secured and this much-loved village tradition ringing out once again for all.
