0In July 2022, after three years of searching, TRAIN moved into new premises in the Market Place in Didcot. The new premises are perfectly located in the town and, following Instagram and Facebook voting polls, the young people have decided to call it “The Base”.
It provides them with a large new drop in space, delivery space for Dinner and Debate and Shout! group sessions, counselling rooms, a homework area and, since December, has been hosting our popular youth clubs on Tuesday and Friday nights.
The Base is a warm space for young people to come and relax. Thanks to a generous grant from B&Q, the leisure facilities in The Base include a pool table, lounge area, electronic gaming equipment, boxing equipment and a table tennis table. The Base is a home from home for our young people and somewhere warm and welcoming for them in during these cold winter months.
Our youth club funding has run out though, so whilst we look for a new grant funder, we are crowdfunding to keep the service going. It costs us about £1,500 a month to run, so we are targeting £3,000 to keep it funded to the end of our financial year.
Please dig deep to help us keep our youth club open at The Base open over the next couple of months!
