Diary of a Psycho Killer is a darkly comedic psychological thriller that blurs the lines between reality and fiction, exploring the dangerous consequences of obsession and the impact of media violence on the human psyche. This innovative low-budget film, written by and starring Matt Rippy, produced by Davey Naylor and directed by award-winning television director Gareth Birkett, promises to deliver a unique and captivating cinematic experience.
The story follows the descent into madness of an aspiring filmmaker as he documents the creation of his first horror film. Through a series of video diary entries, the audience is drawn into a world where the boundaries between art and reality become increasingly blurred. The narrative takes unexpected twists and turns, keeping viewers on the edge of their seats as they question the protagonist's sanity and the true nature of the events unfolding on screen.
With its clever blend of dark humor and psychological horror, Diary of a Psycho Killer offers a fresh take on the found footage genre. The film's meta-narrative structure provides a thought-provoking commentary on the filmmaking process itself, while also delving into deeper themes of obsession, delusion, and the power of storytelling.
Despite its modest budget of £1000, the project aims to maximize its resources through creative storytelling techniques and the expertise of its seasoned crew. The film's low-budget approach aligns perfectly with its narrative, adding an layer of authenticity to the protagonist's struggle to bring his vision to life.
We are seeking funding to enable us to pay for actors travel, a small number of props and wardrobe items, audio equipment rentals and - lots and lots of blood. We're hoping to raise enough to also support the film's post-production phase and to enable submissions to various film festivals. Your contribution will help bring this unique and compelling story to audiences worldwide, showcasing the power of independent filmmaking and the ability to create impactful cinema on a shoestring budget.
By contributing to Diary of a Psycho Killer, you'll be supporting innovative storytelling and helping to launch what promises to be a memorable addition to the psychological thriller genre. Join us in bringing this exciting project to the screen and be part of a film that challenges perceptions and pushes creative boundaries.
