First Hand Records will be distributing our world premiere CD of Boismortier's music for pardessus de viole, the smallest viol.

The Music:
The Six Sonatas by Joseph Bodin de Boismorter are exquisite and expressive compositions that not have not been heard since the mid 18th century since the engraved score has only recently been discovered. They are beautifully written for the 6 string pardessus where the music goes from single line to playing on 2 or even 3 strings together. There are very few pardessus players in the world and we would like to add to the limited number of recordings that are available.
