We're still collecting donations

On the 5th May 2024 we'd raised £6,367 with 79 supporters in 69 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
We need to raise £6000 to be able to install the path for the whole community. Any extra we raise over this amount will be used to develop Ferrers Field, by providing more play & fitness equipment for all to use.
We are a community lead group, who are trying to raise funds for the development of Ferrers Field Recreation Ground/ Park in the village of Yoxall, Staffordshire. We are passionate about providing a safe, usable, green spacefor fitness and recreation.
We are trying to provide a space that is inclusive and can be used all year round for fitness, recreational purposes and help to promote positive social and mental well being.
Due to the nature of the ground Ferrers Field is inaccessible for most, from the months of November to April, due to the wet, boggyness of the ground. It is almost impossible to access for wheelchair users and pushchairs.
Initial surveys were conducted by the group and it was established that the number one request was for a circular path, that could be used for walking, jogging, cycling, scooting, skating, pushchair and wheelchair access, amongst others. Below is a plan of how the path will look joining up the existing paths and provide access across the field, making sure that all users won't need to use the road to access one side to the other, as they do now.
In order to create the circular path, two new paths need to be installed to join up the existing paths, which will also need to be resurfaced.
The path will not impact the hard standing sport facility, football pitch or run off area in anyway, and will be sighted on the lower part of the field. The Parish Council unanimously voted in favour of the paths and believe it will be a great asset to the village.
After some careful consideration we have decided on a tarmac path, due to its hard wearing capabilities and longevity against the water logged field in the winter months.
To create the above path we need to raise £27,000 in total. We have managed to secure £21,000 in grants, but really need your help to gain the last £6,000 in order to achieve the pathway.
We believe that the best way forward is to try to achieve our objectives in phased stages, so that some immediate benefits would be gained, whilst spreading the financial obligations of our long term objectives over a number of years.
This Path is the first phase of a long term project to develop Ferrers Field and make it accessible for the whole community. We hope to keep gaining grants and funds to install further play and fitness equipment for our children and adults alike. We would like Yoxall to have a space that the whole community can access and enjoy and we believe that a path will enable this.
