Who are we?

Oakfield Parkonians Cricket Club, formerly the Old Parkonians CC.

Oakfield Parks has five Saturday sides playing in the Hamro Foundation Essex League, one Sunday team playing friendlies, as well as fielding social XIs, plus a thriving Colts section from under 11's upwards.

Community impact:

We are reaching out to see if you can support our club during these very challenging times. As you know we have been around since 1906 and our ethos has always been to provide a friendly and safe environment for everyone to play and enjoy their cricket during the last few seasons we have made some substantial investments in the club:-

    Installed new nets for everyone to practice

    Upgraded the scoreboard

    Laid brand-new stripes on both squares

    Hired a groundsman purely to maintain the squares

    Made substantial upgrades to both our bar and main hall

    Invested in a new seating area

    Purchased a new, fit-for-purpose roller

This has allowed our seniors, colts and members of our community (as everyone is welcome to become a member of our club) to play and train with some of the best facilities for our members to enjoy playing and improving their cricketing skills. However, this all comes at some considerable cost and to continue to drive our club forward, we are asking for your support all donations/gifts will be greatly welcomed and every single penny we raise will be reinvested back into the club.

Why are we crowdfunding?

We are a growing sports club that supports the community. Currently, we cannot provide cricketing facilities for everyone as we only have 2 squares and have the space for a 3rd square. This will mean we can play additional games on Saturday and Sunday and also allow others in the local community, to use the pitch during the week. To make it a more enjoyable experience for everyone, we want to provide this a fully contained 3rd square, so users can enjoy playing cricket, without needing to travel all the way to the main pavilion or changing rooms.

How we’ll spend the money raised

The money raised will be used to buy a 22ft container that will be modified for use as a changing room, electronic scoreboard, table and chairs and rope, so the 3rd Pitch has all the facilities it needs for our seniors and colts to enjoy playing their cricket.

There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
