Detourz app is designed to enhance your journeys. Learn fun facts about points of interest you pass by, take a detour and break up your trip
Many navigation apps will warn you about a nearby speed camera with an audible alert. But what if there was an app that notified you of fascinating facts about nearby points of interest, instead of just boring old speed cameras?
Whether you drive down a particular road 10 times a week on your commute, regularly cycle along a certain street, or find yourself on an unfamiliar route while driving further afield, you can learn fun facts about nearby points of interest to brighten up your journey with Detourz App.
Was a famous movie filmed along your regular commute? Did Henry VIII lop off the head of a local dignitary nearby? Was that house over there the basis for a famous book? Did you hear of the ghost story associated with that nearby castle?
Liven up your journey, whether a car trip, bus commute or cycle ride, with Detourz App. Take a detour, break up a journey or just learn a fascinating fact to share with your friends.
Detourz App can be set to send you notifications whether you’re listening to music, using a navigation app or using the phone for anything else.
The initial app will focus on unusual and general fun facts, with future editions focusing on sports facts, history facts, food and drink and more.
Detourz App changes and enlivens your trip.

Step 1
We collate facts about museums, towns, tourist attractions and other points of interest and input in to the the App.
Step 2
You download the app, using wifi to get all the latest facts. The app then runs using your gps and no internet connection is required during the journey.
Step 3
When you pass through the radius of a Point Of Interest, the app will ping you an unusual fact about it.
Step 4
At the start of a fact you can visit, it will make a ping noise. They will also be shown on the map with a green pin. You can then choose to detour and visit to explore and learn more.
We will be using the money raised from this crowdfund to finish the design development of the app and start our marketing plan. We have already begun the initial stages of development and aim to
Our aim is to have the beta version of the app ready for our founding members to test by Easter 2020. We will then take feedback on board and finalise the initial version, so that members of the public can use the app on their summer holidays.

We really appreciate any funds you can contribute to the Crowdfunder to help us reach our target and get the app ready to use. We would be so grateful if you could share our project with your friends and family on social media. Every share really does count.
