We're looking to raise money to continue our support of young and disadvantaged artists in the Hampshire area.
We understand that life is a little strange after the pandemic. Purse strings are tightened due to the cost of living crisis and we’re all still readjusting to our new found freedom. Sadly with these difficulties we’re all facing there are many young and disadvantaged creatives looking for a new outlet. After such a tough few years we all need a holiday or a break. But at Design Junction we’re putting all our funds into supporting those who need help the most.
We have already begun our community work by hosting a beautiful photography exhibition for Tamsyn Warde, highlighting struggles of homelessness. Donations from this exhibition will be given to Trinity Winchester to help them support people on Winchester who need it most. It’s been a pleasure to see some of the struggling individuals come along to the exhibition and feel like they belong. We thrive off of bringing people in and not shutting anyone out. If you’re local to Winchester and would like to submerse yourself in the stories and portraits of those in need then please come along to:
Design Junction
5-6 Kings Walk

The exhibition will be running from May 20th- June 20th 2022.
One thing we would love to do with the money from this crowdfunder, is to hold FREE taster sessions of creative classes to re ignite peoples passion for the arts. We have a collective of passionate young artists with a range of different skills to teach. From oil painting to textile design. We hope by offering these free taster sessions we will be able to help those who are struggling with finding free things to do in their local area, help people meet new friends and learn a new skill they can translate into their own style.
We have been in conversation with those who are struggling the most in Winchester about how we can help them feel more connected to their community. We have discussed ideas of being free to express yourself through paints and graffiti. We understand that there isn’t loads to do for young individuals in Winchester, especially those who feel they have been pushed out of their community. We want to change that. We’re looking to give people fun and meaningful projects they can put their time into instead of feeling lost.
We have already invested in many cool pieces of equipment that we hire out to artists to boost their work. Tufting machines, A1 printers and cricut machines have boosted the services we can offer local artists but we’re needed more!! Our services have been so popular that we can’t always keep up with demand. Purchasing more equipment and making to free to use for the artists most in need is another important goal.
We began our creative journey running Winchester Life Drawing Club. After 3 years it’s still running strong am very important to peoples lives. We want to give those in need access to free classes and equipment to allow them to enjoy being artistic every week! Young talent, Digital Thread created this amazing video for us to highlight the atmosphere and goals of our business
To sum us up, we need funds to pump back into the struggling community. We can’t do this alone so please support us if you can!! If you don’t have the funds to help, we understand, even sharing this crowdfunder on your social media platforms can help us hugely!!
