Dereham Community Crafters are a long established group working on commmunity projects locally. We also meet regularly at Dereham Library where we craft together and share skills We saw a need for a new type of group in our community and felt we could provide such a group. We decided to hold it at Dereham Aid Centre where we are based and meet every Friday. The facilities there are ideal for the sort of group we had in mind.
There is a warm safe space for older people to meet and make new friends. We have lots of activities available and will do our best to facilitate anything that our members would like to try. We are already helping people with Family History and Scrapbooking their special memories.
We would use our funds to purchase materials for group activities plus a basic laptop for the very popular Family History research for our Silver Circle members.
As Dereham Community Crafters we never charge for things we do or provide and this will also apply to Dereham's Silver Circle. This means no one is ever excluded from our events or projects. We will introduce new activities as our members share what they would like to do.
