Protect OUR Derbyshire Badgers
Badgers need your help!
Please, can you help?
We need to raise £15,000 to protect and save our beautiful badgers and their cubs!
(Badger cub “Bumble” who was successfully vaccinated and released)
We are Derbyshire Badger Vaccination Project (DBVP for short) and we work in association with High Peak Badger Group (HPBG).
We are already a well-established, experienced and dedicated team.
We are no longer associated with Derbyshire Wildlife Trust (DWT) and no longer receive any funding from them. As a result, we are now having to independently fundraise to continue our work.
With your donations, we will be able to continue vaccinating badgers against Bovine Tuberculosis (BTB). BTB is a devastating disease which affects cattle and badgers, in turn costing the UK millions every year.
BTB can also spread to other wildlife – but there is a humane and effective solution – vaccination.
By supporting DBVP you will help Debbie and the team coordinate the project, support our farming communities and help reduce the spread of this disease.
Your donations will enable us to FUND and ROLL OUT this vaccination project - across Derbyshire - this coming springtime!
We need funds to help with the following costs:
· 4 x 4 vehicle hire (to help our team get to the badgers)
· Volunteer petrol expenses
· BCG vaccine (this is the injection the badgers receive)
· Needles and syringes (to deliver the injection)
· Gloves and masks (to protect our team)
· String and wire (to set humane traps)
· Peanuts (to encourage our badger pals into the traps)
The team are fully committed to the delivery of this project, to help save the most iconic of British species for future generations to come.
Thank you so much, Debbie and the DBVP and HPBG team.
