Aim

Help us keep Derbyshire LGBT+ here for our communities

For over 40 years, Derbyshire LGBT+ has been supporting, celebrating and standing alongside LGBT+ people across Derbyshire. Now, we're asking for your support to help us continue that work.

Since 1983, Derbyshire LGBT+ has been a place where people can find friendship, understanding, advice and, perhaps most importantly, a sense of belonging.

For some, we're a place to meet new friends and connect with their community. For others, we're a lifeline during difficult times. For young people discovering who they are, older people experiencing isolation, or anyone looking for a safe and welcoming space, we're here.

Through our centres in Derby and Chesterfield, we provide a wide range of services, including youth groups, social and support groups, sexual health services, community activities and individual support.

But providing these services comes at a cost.

Why We Need Your Help

Like many small charities, we're facing increasing financial pressures. The cost of running our centres, delivering activities and supporting our community continues to rise, while securing funding has become increasingly challenging.

At the same time, the need for welcoming, inclusive spaces and dedicated LGBT+ support has not disappeared.

In a world where LGBT+ people continue to experience discrimination, isolation and inequality, organisations like ours remain as important as ever.

We believe everyone deserves somewhere they can feel safe, accepted and valued. Somewhere they don't have to explain or justify who they are. Somewhere they belong.

We want to make sure Derbyshire LGBT+ can continue being that place.

More Than Just a Charity

Derbyshire LGBT+ is more than a building, a service or a collection of groups.

It's a community.

It's the young person who finally feels comfortable being themselves. The older person who finds friendship after years of isolation. The person who walks through our doors feeling alone and leaves knowing they aren't.

It's the friendships formed, the confidence built and the countless moments of kindness and connection that happen every day.
