We're still collecting donations
On the 12th February 2024 we'd raised £140 with 2 supporters in 28 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.

On the 12th February 2024 we'd raised £140 with 2 supporters in 28 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
Deranika is the amalgamation of the Igbo names of two sisters, Chidera and Ginika, our founders. Born to Nigerian parents in Italy, they have lived their whole lives in the Diaspora, an experience which has encouraged them to embark on a restless search for skincare crafted with them in mind. This, unfortunately, still does not exist in Italy where they grew up and is still not very easily accessible even in the UK where they live.
Deranika seeks to address the difficulty which many Diasporians face in accessing West African skincare. As avid users of popular skincare brands such as Arami and Nokware themselves, the founders have struggled with the limited availability of stockists, offering a minimal range of products. As a result, Deranika promises to address this issue by offering an online store targeted firstly at UK residing consumers, and then by expanding into the Italian market, ensuring that those who have left the shores of West Africa don’t feel too far from home.
By facilitating a wider reach and access to West African skincare, Deranika is also committed to promoting the use of natural herbs, oils, and plants to look after the skin. It is interested in keeping the founders’ Nigerian roots at the forefront of the modern obsession with skin health and care. Deranika’s ultimate goal is to assist in putting West African skincare on the map, making it a global favourite like K-beauty, because there is no reason why West African skincare should remain a well-kept secret.
The money raised will be used to buy stock and fund this journey where we bring you West African skincare. We also plan to invest in social ventures, by hosting events raising more awareness on skincare conditions such as Eczema and Psoriasis.
