Turning waste denim into stylish, eco-friendly pet beds and accessories. Sourced from charities; some profits go to animal charities.
I’ve always loved giving things a second life, donating countless pairs of jeans to charity shops over the years. But as I learned more about how much clothing still ends up in landfill, I started think that there's a better way.
At home in the Cotswolds, my cat has always been my priority and I wanted her to have something soft, sustainable and beautiful to curl up on. Something that didn’t literally cost the earth. That simple idea became Denim & White.
I handcraft cat and dog accessories, pet beds and home accessories made from reclaimed denim and bedding, sourced filling made from recycled plastic bottles, transforming everyday waste into lasting comfort. Every piece is unique, practical, and made with care, because our pets deserve to be spoilt.
Every standard size pet bed rescues 4 pairs of jeans from landfill, a pillow or 50 plastic bottles. Just selling 5 beds a week would save a tonne of material from landfill including 13,000 plastic bottles.
Different to a normal craft retail model this business will work closely with local charity shops and recycling centers to save denim from landfill. On sale of the new product a percentage of sales will go back to animal charites, giving to where we care.
This is a small start-up with a big purpose; to show that circular design can be both sustainable, desirable and charitable.
By supporting this project, you’re helping me give new life to old materials creating beatiful luxury items for our furfreinds. It will in time develop local remote job opportunities and support local animal charities more.
