Courage calls: latest campaign update following our Brussels press conference on Human Rights Day and UK election fall-out

Dear Supporter

Brexit is a collective act of self-harm that will damage and divide Britain for a generation to come.

New Europeans will continue to campaign to ensure citizens do not pay price of Brexit and fight to keep the door open for the UK to rejoin the EU in the future.

It is very important that we are as strong and united at this time as we can possibly be.

For that reason, I would like to ask you to consider joining New Europeans as a member.

Here is the online membership form

Membership is the best way to show your solidarity with our campaigns and to keep our capacity to campaign on a sustainable footing.

There is much we need to do before Britain leaves the EU on 31 January and again during the transition period. The battle for citizens’ rights is far from over.

Our press conference in Brussels on 10 December, Human Rights Day went well and has made a significant impact.

Guy Verhofstadt, Chair of the European Parliament’s Steering Group has announced that he will call on the European Parliament to withhold ratification of the Withdrawal Agreement unless citizens’ rights are fully guaranteed.

For further information about this and about our press conference and campaign see:

We will be working over Christmas and the New Year to prepare for when MEPs and MPs return from the recess.

We want to call on the MEPs and MPs to show courage and stand up for the rights of citizens by signing up to our five pledges.

If you can help again by chipping in £10, £20, £50, whatever you can afford it will have a direct impact on our ability to campaign.

Please do what you can as we are doing to make sure that EU citizens have all our rights ring-fenced..

Our Courage Calls also include calls for EU citizens with settled status to be given UK citizenship for the cost of a UK passport, for all EU citizens in the UK to have the right to vote in General elections, and for the abolition of the 15 year rule for Britons abroad.

We do not want our votes denied again.

Your support is invaluable and give us a chance to make a difference which we do.

We will continue to fight for our rights and with your help we will secure justice.

From the whole team at New Europeans, we wish you a peaceful Christmas and all the best for 2020.

With best regards

Roger Casale
