To provide free debt advice and coaching on budgeting, CV writing, interview skills and more to enable everyone to live well on a low income
Colchester CMA Debt Centre is based in Colchester, and works in partnership with national charity Community Money Advice.
We know all about debt and what impact it has: it can feel like being in a prison where people can see no way out; it can make people feel afraid, ashamed, guilty, angry. We know it can make every part of life hard and stressful and make people feel like they can’t face another day.
But there is a way out! CCDC's caring, compassionate Money Mentors can help people to get free - not only to get out of debt but teach you how to remain debt free in the future.
Since we started working in Colchester a decade ago, we have helped over 800 households, have seen well over 200 go debt free, and have supported and advised lots more people with budgeting skills, finding work and practical help.

Our help is available to anyone who is feeling crushed by debt, irrespective of race, ethnicity, sexuality, or faith.
Our services are always:

We have expanded our team of staff and volunteers to meet the ever-growing demand for our services. As well as debt advice can offer individually-tailored support with budgeting and money management, CV writing and interview skills, cooking on a budget and much more, to help people not only tackle debt, but to live well and be resilient.
We need your support and help to raise funds to carry on providing these vital services in Colchester - thank you!
