I am crowdfunding to raise money to buy a potter's wheel so I can fulfil my dream of becoming a full-time ceramicist. Thanks!

Who am I?

My name is Jo, a full-time classroom assistant and part-time ceramicist. What started out as a hobby four years ago, swiftly became a passion. I love everything about working with clay, from creating the initial design to seeing what comes out of the kiln. I even enjoy learning from those moments when things don’t go to plan!

What am I trying to do?

My eldest has just left for university, giving me the time and space to fulfil my dream of becoming a full-time ceramicist. I love everything to do with clay and my skills are gradually getting better… but as with anything worth doing in life, you need to put the hours in. Something that I will only be able to achieve if I have the right tools for the job.

How will your pledge help?

Any money I receive will go towards helping me purchase a potters wheel to use at home. This fantastic initiative is supported by Natwest and Crowdfunder ’Back her business’ to assist women with a start-up idea. They have pledged the first £50 to get me started. If I am able to raise another £450 (from at least ten supporters) they will boost it by another £500.
