Aim

Help us create a calming sensory room for all pupils, supporting wellbeing, emotional regulation, and inclusive learning.

We are raising funds to create a dedicated sensory room within Deansfield Primary School, a safe, calming space that will benefit all children, while providing essential support for those with additional needs, including those with autism, ADHD, and sensory processing challenges.

Our aim is to provide an inclusive environment where every child can regulate their emotions, reduce anxiety, and engage in learning at their own pace.

The room will be thoughtfully designed with a range of specialist equipment, including interactive mood lighting, a solar LED projector, an interactive Borealis tube, and soft wall and floor padding, alongside other sensory resources to create a safe and engaging environment. These features will help pupils relax, self-regulate, and refocus, supporting both emotional wellbeing and readiness to learn.

With no dedicated funding available within existing school or trust budgets for a project of this kind, this space is being created entirely through charitable donations and the efforts of The Friends of Deansfield School.

By reaching our fundraising target, we hope to provide a space that promotes wellbeing, inclusion, and confidence for every child in our school.
