Aim

To create lasting learning spaces that support creativity, wellbeing and sustainability for every child, now and for generations to come.

Cheriton Primary School 150 Legacy Fund

A School Shaped by Generations. A Future Built for Children.

In our 150th year, Cheriton Primary School stands proudly at the heart of our village and surrounding community. For generations, it has been more than a place of learning, it has been a place of belonging, care, and shared pride.

The Cheriton 150 Legacy Fund marks this milestone by looking forward. It exists to ensure the school does not stand still but continues to evolve to meet the needs of its children, today and in the future.

By investing in the spaces and experiences that shape learning, creativity, and wellbeing, the Legacy Fund protects what makes Cheriton special, while creating new opportunities for future generations to thrive.

Your support helps turn that ambition into reality.

Why the Legacy Fund Matters

Children’s learning needs have changed, and schools must adapt to support them. Learning today is shaped not only by what happens in the classroom, but also by opportunities for creativity, wellbeing, and connection.

At the same time, school budgets are under increasing pressure nationwide, a challenge felt particularly strongly by small village schools like ours. While essential funding helps support day-to-day education, it cannot always stretch to the enriching spaces and experiences that make a lasting difference.

The Legacy Fund allows our community to invest in the long-term strength of the school, supporting enriching opportunities for children today, while helping ensure Cheriton remains a thriving, viable school for future generations.

Projects Shaping the Future for Our Children

The Legacy Fund begins with projects that will benefit every child, every year.

Phase 1: 2026–2027

Expanding Our Early Years Area

We want to extend our Early Years provision to create a larger, more inspiring space where children can learn through play every day, whatever the weather. With more room and richer resources, our youngest learners will have the freedom to explore, imagine, create and discover—building confidence, curiosity and a love of learning from the very start.

Installing glass around our existing canopied area will provide outdoor learning  all year round, removing weather as a barrier and allowing children to benefit fully from hands-on, play-based experiences. The additional space will also enable more children to attend the school, ensuring even more families can access high-quality Early Years education.

What Your Support Makes Possible

When you give to the Legacy Fund, you’re helping to create:

· More inspiring spaces for learning and creativity

· Better environments that support children’s wellbeing

· Opportunities that children will carry with them long after they leave Cheriton

This is not just about buildings or facilities. It’s about the experiences that shape children’s confidence, curiosity, and love of learning.

The Legacy Fund gives our community the chance to shape the next chapter of Cheriton’s story, ensuring that future generations benefit from the same care, ambition, and commitment that have defined the school for 150 years.

A Legacy Built Together

Whether you are an individual, family, or local business, the Cheriton 150 Legacy Fund offers a meaningful way to support something that matters deeply to our community.

Every donation, large or small, helps build something lasting: spaces where children can learn, create, and thrive for generations to come. A proportion of all donations will be set aside to support the long-term sustainability of the school.

Help us build a future worthy of the generations who came before—and the children who are here today.
