Daz in the Hat CIC removes barriers to music and broadcasting by funding 12 months of core digital infrastructure for Bradford creatives.

Daz in the Hat CIC is launching this essential crowdfunding campaign to secure the digital infrastructure required to sustain our community radio station and remove the structural barriers gripping our local creative economy. We need your help! Bradford faces intense socio-economic challenges where unemployment sits well above the national average and cultural sector jobs comprise a mere fraction of the local job market. By funding our core operational costs for the next 12 months, you directly enable us to keep our training, broadcasting software and industry mentorship completely free for the working-class talent that needs it most. Every pound goes towards the tools that bypass the traditional paywalls of the music industry.

 It's all about practical empowerment. Your support will directly fund our essential hosting platforms, such as Radio.co and Google Business Suite, which allow us to provide 1-to-1 radio training and give vital airplay to unsigned grassroots musicians. We also offer structured volunteering roles in station management, graphic design and social media. 

This project matters deeply because the UK creative industries remain heavily monopolised by privileged socio-economic backgrounds, effectively shutting out talented individuals from working-class communities. Geography should not dictate destiny. Aspiring broadcasters and musicians in West Yorkshire face a heavy financial tax, feeling forced to move to expensive hubs like London just to get noticed. 

Our station provides a global launchpad right from the heart of Bradford, acting as a digital venue that future-proofs our community against the growing digital divide.
