Aim
I'm raising money by taking part in our annual Trolley Dash to help give children and young people a flying start in life.
Since 2010, British Airways customers and colleagues have raised over £28.5 million - an incredible amount that we are immensely proud of. These vital donations have supported more than 824,000 people in the UK and some of the worlds poorest communities.
Every year, a team of Flying Start champions take on an annual Trolley Dash in the lead up to Comic Relief's Red Nose Day to help boost our fundraising totals. It's a fun way to get involved and contribute towards helping those in need.
In January alone, our LHR & LGW cabin crew colleagues banked an amazing 5,983 donation pouches which raised over £107,769. This will go towards helping projects such as Streetscapes in Cape Town. Streetscapes in an organisation working with homeless people with multiple complex needs. Streetscapes allow the people they work with to earn a salary, save, access housing and improve their lives through a structured programme of skills development and counselling.
Having visited 4 overseas projects that Flying Start supports, including Streetscapes, I can honestly say your donations really do make all of the difference - no matter how great or small. Whatever you can donate to help will be greatly appreciated by all.
