A more awesome telescope for science outreach

Aim
We're raising funds for a new telescope to bring the most amazing and inspiring stargazing experience to people across Devon and beyond.
Dartmoor Skies started life over 4 years ago in Buckfastleigh, Devon. Rob (an astronomy nerd) and Bryony Tilsley (a star gazer) wanted to offer people the opportunity to learn more about space and stargaze for themselves. Turns out, people love astronomy and stargazing so we've been busy ever since.

We now have a small team of dedicated volunteers and have welcomed more than 2500 people to our events. There have, of course, been cloudy nights, but the majority of those people have looked through our telescope and seen amazing sights such as the Moon, planets, galaxies, star clusters, nebulae, stars and comets.
Our telescope is falling apart
We've been using a telescope which was a birthday gift to Rob from his family. At the time we got it, we never thought that we’d found an astronomy outreach charity and run events. This telescope has served Dartmoor Skies extremely well, but it's had a tough life over the last 4 years and is now falling to bits. We don't know how much longer it can last and, without it, we will struggle to run our activities. There are also certain astronomical objects that we aren't able to see with this telescope, so we'd like to upgrade to something which will allow us to share more delights of the night sky.
We need a new telescope - one that will make stargazing an even more amazing experience. We'll be able to share more astronomical objects in even more detail and keep inspiring people to discover more about space.
Our goal
The telescope we want to buy is the Explore Scientific Ultra Light 16 inch Generation 2. On it's own it costs £2225, and there's additional equipment we need to make the best use of this fab piece of kit.
In total, we need raise £2650 to make this awe upgrade happen. The Crowdfunder will go a long way to helping us reach this target.
