Dartmoor Makers CIC

Creating community

Who we are…

Dartmoor Makers is a not-for-profit community pottery studio and multi-disciplinary creative workspace, working for social change through creative experiences. We want to change the world through art and craft, make a happier, healthier community and build an ethical and environmentally conscious business.

What we offer…

High quality, affordable educational and therapeutic workshops and a state-of-the art open access ceramics studio and multidisciplinary workspace -  the first on Dartmoor!

Who it’s for…

EVERYONE!!!

Join us and help us to unite the community and improve wellbeing and creative life experiences for all.

Why what we're doing is special...

By providing a place to make and connect we are working towards combating some of the difficulties of our time, including reducing loneliness and social isolation, fostering a sense of wellbeing and belonging and strengthening our community and resilience through a more connected and creative life.

How we share the love…

Standard membership is tiered to income so we can subsidise access for low-income individuals and families. The money generated by our membership, courses and makers incubator space will go back into the community allowing us to run affordable, subsidised therapeutic workshops and 1-1 sessions for:

  • Those with mental health conditions
  • Children and youth groups
  • Children and adults that are recovering from trauma
  • Those experiencing loneliness or isolation
  • Those who have been referred to us as part of social prescribing
  • Please do get in touch if you think we have left anyone out!

Be part of our journey…

You can access our studios in the following ways:

  • Studio membership
  • After school / weekend / holiday clubs
  • Workshops and educational courses
  • Children's birthday parties
  • Creative drop-ins
  • Supporter membership
  • Become part of our time exchange team!

Support our work…

We couldn't do this without you!!! If you would like to see this enterprise succeed then we need your support. Take a look at our rewards  - there is something for everyone from children's craft clubs to gift vouchers or full membership. Our aim is to fully equip the pottery studio and creative workspace offering a small but perfectly formed ceramics workshop and multi-disciplinary creative workspace that can be accessed by all.
