Aim

Invest in our public services and provide opportunities for young people.

Having campaigned across Midlothian South, Tweeddale and Lauderdale, people tell me the same things: difficulty seeing a GP, roads full of potholes, inadequate public transport, too few opportunities for young people, and pensioners waiting too long for the care and services they rely on.

The SNP government has failed Scotland. Economic and social decline has become normalised and our communities deserve better. Scotland needs a government focused on delivery and on doing the right thing for the people we seek to represent. That is why I am standing as a candidate in this election.

My ambition is to be part of the next Scottish Labour Government that restores trust in politics, invests in the NHS, improves educational standards and creates real opportunities for young people across the country.

I know first-hand the difference a Labour government can make. Labour policies gave my family security and gave me the opportunity to go to university and build a career as an economist. I want to ensure everyone has the same life chances I had.

This election is about Scotland. It is about investment, jobs and housing. It is about getting Scotland moving in the right direction. After 18 years of SNP failure, I want to play my part in turning Scotland around. In May, I want to see a positive Scotland emerge. To do that, I need your support, and I ask you to consider giving a donation to help the campaign.

There are around 30k households in the constituency:

£15 can buy 250 A5 calling cards

£40 can buy 500 high quality A4 double sided A4 leaflets

£100 pays for social media that can reach ~10,000 constituents

£1500 can pay for a freepost to cover every household in the constituency

Every £ really does help us to get the message so please give whatever you can afford.

Rules:

Midlothian South, Tweedale and Lauderdale CLP may contact you using the information you supply in order to discharge their legal responsibilities to ensure donations are from permissible sources. Donations to meet the costs of candidate election expenses are regulated by the Representation of the People Act 1983 and the Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act 2000. By making a donation to this campaign I understand and accept the following:

- I am donating to the Midlothian South, Tweedale and Lauderdale Constituency Labour Party.

- I must use my own funds to make a donation to the Labour Party. Donations may not be passed on from a third party. It is an offence not to reveal the true source of a donation.

- If I donate more than £500, checks will be made to ensure my name is listed on the UK electoral register (excluding the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man). Any single donations of £500 or under are not regulated donations under electoral law, and therefore the donor would not be required to be on the UK Electoral Register.

- If I donate more than £2,230 to a Constituency Labour Party or more than £11,180 to the national Labour Party in a calendar year, my name and the amount of the donation will be published on the Electoral Commission's website, although my home address will not be made public.

- Donations to political parties are not tax-deductible.

- This donation facility is provided for individuals to make donations to the Labour Party. UK companies, Limited Liability Partnerships, Trade Unions and Unincorporated Associations may also make donations to the Labour Party.

*Permissibility checks will be carried out on individual donors in compliance with the rules laid out by the Electoral Commission on donations in election campaigns. You will be contacted to obtain this information. Donor details may be published.*
